In a stunning turn of events, Serena got called for a non-existent (?) second serve foot fault at 15-30. This lead to a 15-40 match point. She verbally abused the offending lineswomen leading to her second code violation, a point penalty. It was match point which gave Kim Clijsters the game and match. She received her first violation for breaking her racket in the first set. Clijsters was clearly the better player and would have won anyways. Her 6-4, 7-5 victory puts her in the finals against Wozniacki.
